We have been working with yaks for 20 years. I met them while climbing in Nepal and fell in love with them in Tibet after learning about them from a Tibetan nomadic yak family. We specialize in tame, guaranteed fertile white yaks. White is chosen for the great white fiber that they produce. White also helps when it gets hot. I always recommend that you visit any yak AND the yak ranch if you wish to purchase because the word “tame” is a very relative term. We halter train and ride many of our yaks. A well cared for yak loves human attention. A neglected or abused yak can be dangerous. We encourage anyone wishing to purchase a yak to come here to Crawford, Colorado to see how tame our herd is
